A green coconut, also known as a young coconut or a tender coconut, refers to a stage in the development of a coconut fruit when it is still immature and has not fully ripened. Unlike the mature brown coconuts that have hard shells, green coconuts have a softer, greenish outer husk and a thin, white, and somewhat jelly-like meat inside. The liquid found within a green coconut is known as coconut water or coconut juice.

Green coconuts are primarily harvested for their refreshing and hydrating coconut water. The water inside is clear, mildly sweet, and filled with electrolytes, making it a popular natural beverage. In tropical regions, it is commonly consumed as a thirst-quencher or used as an ingredient in various drinks, smoothies, and cocktails.
