An open-end spanner, also known as an open-end wrench, is a hand tool used for gripping and turning nuts and bolts. It has two U-shaped jaws at each end, which are open and can be slipped over a fastener from the side. The jaws are typically fixed at a specific angle (usually 15 degrees) to the handle, allowing the spanner to work in tight spaces where a closed-loop wrench might not fit.
