Neera, also known as coconut palm nectar or coconut toddy, is a sweet sap that is obtained from the inflorescence of the coconut palm tree (Cocos nucifera). It is a traditional drink that is popular in some tropical regions, particularly in South and Southeast Asia.

The process of extracting neera involves tapping the unopened flower bud of the coconut palm tree to collect the sap. A spadix is attached to the bud, and as the sap starts to flow, it is collected in containers. This tapping process needs to be done carefully to avoid damaging the tree and to ensure sustainable harvesting.
